Creating Luxury Hand-Iced Biscuits for Bentley Motors

We were asked to create a collection of hand-iced biscuits for Bentley, featuring its instantly recognisable winged B and a front-facing version of one of its cars. No pressure, then.

Bentley is a brand built around craftsmanship and tiny details, so sending over something that merely looked “close enough” was never going to cut it. The biscuits needed to feel clean, considered and unmistakably Bentley, while still looking like they had been made by real people rather than printed by a machine.

Thankfully, that is exactly the sort of challenge we love when it comes to luxury car biscuit designs.

Turning a Bentley into a biscuit

Making a car-shaped biscuit sounds fairly straightforward until you actually start looking at how much detail sits on the front of one.

There is the grille, the headlights, the bonnet, the shape of the windscreen and the overall symmetry. Get one part slightly wrong and it can quickly turn into a fairly generic green car, which was not the plan.

Our icing team stripped the design back to the details that mattered most, then rebuilt them in icing. The deep green colour gave the biscuits a really rich finish, while the white and grey detailing helped the grille and headlights stand out.

They were still obviously biscuits, but they also had that immediate Bentley feel. That balance is always the goal with our bespoke designs. We are not trying to create a technical drawing in icing. We are trying to capture the character of the thing.

And, yes, there were a lot of very steady hands involved.

The winged B biscuits

Alongside the cars, we created biscuits featuring Bentley’s winged B emblem.

These looked simple at first glance but as is often the case, the cleanest designs leave you with nowhere to hide. Every outline needed to be sharp, the wings needed to feel balanced and the black-and-white icing had to stay crisp and not bleed into one another.

Placed next to the green car biscuits, they brought the whole collection together. The cars added colour and personality, while the emblem biscuits gave the order a strong branded finish.

It is a combination we often recommend for corporate projects: one design that feels playful and specific to the occasion, and another that reinforces the brand. It makes the final collection far more interesting than repeating the same logo across every biscuit.

Handmade means every single one

One of the biggest misconceptions about hand-iced biscuits is that once the first one has been made, the rest simply follow.

We wish.

Every grille, headlight, outline and wing was piped by hand across the full order. There is no print button hiding in the Bakehouse and no machine quietly doing the difficult bits for us.

That is part of what makes this kind of work so satisfying. There will always be tiny variations from biscuit to biscuit because they have been made by people, but the overall collection still needs to look consistent when it is laid out together.

It is a surprisingly fine balance.

Too much variation and the order can look messy. Make everything too rigid and you lose the personality that makes hand-iced biscuits special in the first place.

Our team has become very good at finding the middle ground, polished enough for a luxury brand, but still unmistakably handmade.

Why bespoke biscuits work so well at car events

Cars are emotional purchases. People remember collecting a new car, attending a launch or being invited to a special showroom event.

The big moments obviously matter, but it is often the smaller details that make the experience feel properly thought through.

That is where luxury bespoke car biscuits come in.

They can be placed next to a guest’s drink, included in a press pack, added to a gift box or handed over with a new set of keys. They do not take over the event, but they add something personal and they nearly always end up being photographed.

We have created branded biscuits for all sorts of events and launches, and the best projects are the ones where the biscuit feels like part of the wider experience rather than an afterthought.

The shape, colours, packaging and design can all be tailored to the car, the campaign or the occasion. That might mean recreating a specific model, matching a vehicle colour or creating a biscuit around a recognisable design feature.

It is a small product, but there is a surprising amount you can do with it.

The details people remember

Running Molly’s Bakehouse has taught us that people notice when care has gone into something.

They might not know how many stages were involved, how many colour tests we did or how slowly a particular section had to be piped. But they can tell when something has been made properly.

That was the aim with the Bentley biscuits.

We wanted them to feel fun, but also refined enough to sit comfortably alongside such an established luxury brand.

Seeing the full collection together, with rows of green cars broken up by the black-and-white winged emblems, was one of those very satisfying Bakehouse moments. A slightly surreal one too. There is something quite funny about seeing a worktable completely covered in tiny edible Bentleys.

Projects like this are exactly why we still love what we do. They give us the opportunity to take a familiar brand, object or idea and turn it into something unexpected, personal and edible.

And they prove that corporate gifting does not have to feel corporate.

Planning a launch or automotive event?

We create luxury hand-iced biscuits for car launches, dealership events, press days, customer handovers and branded gifting.

Every collection is designed around the company and the occasion, whether that involves a detailed car biscuit, a company logo or a completely new idea we have not tried before.
